That is probably the most profitable account of the post-surgery recovery that I have read! Good to know for when my turn comes around.

Prayers are still with you! May you become a true completative (for 4-6 weeks, at least).

I got a book calledThe Cloud of Unknowing that I'm starting to get into, but I don't know if that's your thing right now or not . . . Also on order, The Fullfillment of All Desire which came to my attention through EWTN viewing.

The Cloud of Unknowning was one of the first books we read and discussed at an ecumenical book study at Holy Cross Abbey more than 20 years ago, Porthos. Contemplation is, of course, the major form of prayer of Cistercians. I'm glad you are into it.

Thanks for the supportive prayers and thoughts.

The only thing disappointing about The Cloud of Unknowing was that the title led me to expect a justification for my total cluelessness.

It turns out that it means something else.

Can't win um all . . .

On the upside, the included work, The Book of Privy Counseling, turns out not to be, to my great relief, about potty training.
