This is a very powerful piece of cinematographical honoring of Our Lady -- really, the finest five minutes of doing so -- to be had (the music is usual evangelical bathos shlock, but this is forgivable since they have to ratchet up the emotion quotient not having the sacraments or sacramentals).
I think both Zefferelli and mighty Mel are to be commended.
