"...lot of people didn't get the point of the story. They think it is about God's wrath and anger...they love it when God gets angry... "
"...sounds like an opportunity. If someone prays for patience, do you think that God gives them patience or does He give them the opportunity to be patient? If one prays for courage does God give them courage or the opportunity to be courageous? If someone prays for the family to be closer do you think God actually wants them to have warm fuzzy feelings or does He give them opportunities to love each other?" -- Al Mighty
This scene didn't make any the trailers yet I thought it was perfect to play here in our blog.
Two Thumbs Up. Going in, I had a good feeling about this movie yet at the same time I had braced myself for disappointment. We were NOT disappointed as we walked out of the theater with smiles and, and well, joy. Great family movie. Morgan Freeman is great in the role of God.

Great, Aramis. I rreally didn't like what I saw of the '40-Year Old Virgin' (just previews), so I dismissed 'Evan'. I may even go see it before it reaches the DVD stage ...
Just came from mass and was greeted by this new family with 2 young kids who saw the movie and they couldn't stop talking about it. Mom said that the 2 girls really stayed with the theme throughout the movie. It really was a great family movie. And you can go online and read about the director who made the set ecology and animal friendly -- all the lumber from the ark and set was donated to Habitat for Humanity. A feel good movie all the way round.
Hopefully this post and movie will help me stay focus and post more on the Meaning of the Flood using the Raymund Schwager book, "Banished From Eden" -- bringing in the significance of Girard to help us understand original sin.
God uses all things to show us love -- we humans almost always prevert that love and make violence. The flood narrative can help us see how God reacts to our violence and continues to love us.

Saw it last night -- a great flick. John Goodman makes a great Bad Guy (Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?).
