Unrest in Iran (though not much covered) has been going on for a long time and it's safe to say that extreme distaste (charitable term) for the mullahs within Iran is vast. The question to me here is always, will Iran collapse before the nukes are up and running and the mullahs roast Israel (and Palestine--oh well, omelet/eggs/break) and foster whatever widespread chaos across the Mideast they can. I make a real distinction between the Iranians (largely pro West and many more likely to want to be Zoroastrians than Muslims) and the regime. Iran has struck me for the past several years as at once the most promising (the Iranian people) and the most bleak (mullahcracy) of our "problem states."

So, what do you make of all this, Porthos?
