Jim Rutenberg of the NYT thinks that all those critics of Big-O are hemming and hawing now that the man is in direct line for the Oval Office, with a few notable exceptions promising ”intense” oversight.The truly interesting feat to be carried out by the smarmy MSM will be how aptly they will paint the continued fraying of western civilization at its ragged edges and sizable tears. It will resemble, in my humble opinion, the jaunty adventures of the denizens of Terry Gilliams' prescient Brazil (1985), with its exurbite mavens ignoring a nearby terrorist bomb explosion a few tables away while they're "enjoying" their lunch.
I think I'll curl up with Walker Percy's Love in the Ruins. Wake me when 2012 comes round...

Sorry friend, where and what you do will prohibit you from being able to sleep out this term as you stated in your ending comment, "Wake me when 2012 comes round..."
One distressing fact remains for me, and that is how the right-to-life is lumped in with all the other economic and social "issues" and therefore anyone who is grounded in LIFE is automatically accused of being stuck in 1 issue.
Somewhere along the way having life thought of as simply an "issue" and not the thread of existence is a prime example of Satan at work in this world.
As Mother Teresa said, "Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion."
Any and all social works that accepts abortion is simply a mask for idolatry and sin. There is a lot of 'good works' being done by people who support abortion and I know that I would struggle to call their works idolatrous to their face however we must begin to help people see that 'good works' supported by (or propped up by a society that supports) the killing of the innocents will not lead the people out of their violence and misery. It may postpone temperarily their misery but the violence will fester and grow.
We must help all to come to understand that choosing life is the ONLY way toward peace. Supporting abortion ONLY leads to more and more violence.
