One more empty church in Europe

Fr Barron nails it very well. I particularly like his realism about the waxing and waning influence of the Church during different epochs of cultures' acceptance or rejection of the Gospel, beginning with St Paul on the Areopagus.

I listen to a truly fine homily given at my parish by a young 30-something priest. He referred to the Washington Post's article, Who is really a Catholic? (Do not read unless you want to raise your blood pressure.)

In so many words he said that in a thousand years, the WaPo will be a dusty memory of a bygone age and society. The Church will still be the Church and Catholic schools will still have students roaming their halls in uniforms ... That is to say, don't worry about the Church and how she is interpreted, spat upon, attempted to be brought down. It won't happen.

We must simply be faithful, obedient, observant, and loving in our witness. How true. Cheers

Yes Ath, I agree, the thing is I have many a dear friend or family member that will have nothing to do with the Church and such will be caught up in the whirlwind that will overtake the "bygone age & society". I know my total need for repentance, forgiveness and metanoia but there are many in my life who simply don't get it.
