Out You Go

A good reason to engage in legitimate defense, to protect our bishops, priests, and religious, and have able-bodied men ready for the bums rush and old heave-ho here.

The neo-pagan, like its primitive sacred predecessor, looks for new victims while feeling exceedingly self righteous in doing so. This Pentecost Sunday plot is nothing other than an endeavor to destroy the faith, reason, and morals of the revealed truth vouchsafed in the Catholic Church by fallen, depraved, and satanically-influenced humans gone to seed.

Show 'em the door and don't be gentle about it.

Safe School Czar - NOT

The frog has boiled and needs to be flushed if our "Safe Schools Czar" isn't given the heave ho. ht: Gil Bailie @ Reflections on Faith and Culture

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

There is a growing multitude of attacks on the Holy Father and Catholic truth. As such, they attempt to draw us away from faith and hope and charity. Note them; but do not let them tempt you either to despair or frenetic distraction.

Damien Thompson notes the full frontal attack by such progressivist (read: let's continue the social meltdown) news organs as Time. Why not? Today is Let's Celebrate I Won's Trip to Notre Dame Sunday.

Meanwhile, the WaPo mounts the scaffolds to shout that Gay-Marriage Issue Awaits Court Pick Same-Sex Unions Supplant Abortion As Social Priority for Conservatives ... just as a poll is released that more Americans are pro-life than pro-choice for the first time.

Ah, what a glorious day to go to Mass and celebrate Our Lord's victory over the world and it satanic prince.

'Benedict on Gender'

A post at The Continuum by one Poetreader discusses the recent words of the Holy Father regarding ecology and the necessity of not blurring sexual distinctions for the sake of human survival. I haven't seen a more measured and balanced reflection on the Pope's statement, all the more significant because Poetreader himself has feelings of same-sex attraction.
The teaching of the Church with regard to sexual practice and to the differentiation of 'gender' roles is closely linked to how things actually work in nature. Thus the testimony of Scripture, in both Testaments, would seem to give solid support to what I have said above, and this is supported both by the Fathers and by the course of Christian history. While it is manifestly obvious that there have been attempts to assert male supremacy, a close reading of history will show that such attempts are always doomed, and that women, sometimes behind the scenes, and sometimes in leadership have been a strong and formative force in the Church, even though gender differentiation has always been in place.

Be that as it may, there is nothing clearer in either Scripture or the continuous teaching of the Church than its blessing of marriage between a man and a woman with the aim of procreation, and its condemnation of sexual activity outside such a marriage, and especially as between members of the same sex. Bluntly, all the contrary theories one hears so often these days to justify homosexual acts and homosexual "marriage" are in actuality only examples of special pleading, attempts to justify doing what one wants to do, even though it has never been accepted behavior ...

Culture of Un-Life, Deviancy, Degeneracy

If this took place to strategize about this, then perhaps discussion can finally be brought out into the open about the degenerate (literally) and aberrant sexual practices born of fallen human nature.

But my hunch is that like the early Christians in the catacombs, or English Catholics during Cecil/Lord Burleigh's tightening noose (or fictionally, the "Old Narnians" during the Telmarines' reign in Lewis' Prince Caspian), this will become yet another episode in the sad history of conventional culture in which those who oppose such deviancy in the name of Natural Law and revealed truth will become victim fodder for the sacrificial mechanism of the on-coming neo-pagan revival under the cloak of "enlightened" pragmatism.

Addendum: The deuced thing about the sacred, as R. Girard has explicated, is its power to hem in and seem a masterful and conspiratorial thing. It is hardly so; rather, a clumsy, unconscious thing that overpowers humans with character disorders and hubris aplenty.

If and when push comes to shove in the above matter, members of the Catholic Church and all Christians downstream of her would do well to begin to mimic our elder brothers in the biblical faith, the Jews, and let the pagans wreak their own havoc. But marriage, the family, and the Church should be inviolable and precious; precious as the Magisterium vouchsafed to us.

Chivalry in the Meantime

Saint Michael, pray for us.

Michelle Malkin, unlike the MSM, notes the way opponents of Proposition 8 are becoming increasingly rabble-rousers who continue to wreak havoc on Mormon churches in several cities and states, blacklisting peaceful voters who supported the ballot measure.

Apropos to this, mimetic theory posits that it is precisely when mobs feel specially righteous, when individuals within said mobs have willingly relinquished their baseline consciousness in this abaisement de nouveau mental, that they are most apt to go a-hunting for certifiable victims. In this case, any who opposed them. As Gil Bailie has observed,
“Anything one does to champion the cause of the victim creates new victims, so then you have a shift in the marker, and the moral boomerang comes back upon those who were trying to champion the cause of victims and therefore made victims and therefore became victimizers and therefore the whole thing begins to shift again.”
Poor fighters against "H8" - they must use (self-) righteous violence and hate against those who see the marriage between one man and one woman and Natural Law as of a piece with revealed knowledge from a loving God who does not will us to be enslaved to our instincts and desires (Gr. epithumeia).

In the meantime, be brave, carrying out a faithful witness in Marian chivalry.

UPDATE: By the way, the so-called homosexual community doesn't have an epistemological leg on which to stand (biding by Mark Twain's dictum: "A dangling preposition is something up with which I shall not put"). Who are THEY to dictate the terms of discourse? What Archimedean fulcrum do they possess that gives them access to truth?

They are counting on the vast center of the American bell-shaped curve to have no truck with philosophical presuppositions, merely a guilty conscience due to an over developed victimological point of view.

Skubalon (Gr.) Tripe. Piffle. Look them squarely in the eye and deal with bullies the usual way.

The Darkened Intellect Serves the Fallen Will

Mark Shea explores the mirky world of atheistic SSA, citing David Morrison and Eve Tushnet. An excerpt:
It's fairly obvious to unclouded faculties that homosexuals are acing themselves out in the Darwinian struggle for survival, since they are not in the deep end of the pool of those mostly likely to pass on their chromosomes. That doesn't mean that homosexual orientation might not have "natural" causes, just as other disorders do. Nor does it mean that some sort of Just So story can't be concocted to overlook that glaring fact ("Same-sex attracted individuals could have made excellent, er, nannies in pre-history, thus guaranteeing a higher species survival rate, blah blah, etc."). Nevertheless, a fact it remains: As a Darwinian advantage, homosexuality is highly unconvincing.

Crisis of Distinctions - California

Citizens of California may be scratching their heads today at their Supreme Court’s recent decision. Just as sure as Barrack Hussein Obama got John Edwards’ “blue-collar” endorsement immediately following Hillary Clinton’s victory in WV, Ellen DeGenerese announced her impeding “marriage” to “longtime love,” Portia de Rossi – surprise, surprise. (What happened to her “longer ago love” Anne Heche?)

Peter Sean Bradley, attorney-at-law in the once great state of California, says the following:
A few questions:

First, why not polygamy? Why is "two" a "magic number"? Could it be because we have two arms? Could it be because we have two eyes?

Or could it be because there are two sexes, and now that the idea that the complementarity of the different genders is now considered outmoded and irrelevant, why should "two" be a limitation any more than the idea that a "man" and a "woman" constitute a married couple?

Second, haven't we always known that this was going to happen? It didn't matter how often the voters stated their sovereign preference by wide margins that they wanted to structure their society around the idea that marriage was intrinsically and essentially connected to procreation, we've always known that gay marriage would make its march through the elite governance system.

And now it has happened.

What has happened to the ideal of democracy? The idea that citizens govern rather than are subjects of their governors seems to have died a silent, unlamented death.
Good questions, all. From the viewpoint of Girard's mimetic theory, we are seeing the dissolution of the structures put into place by means of the sacrificial mechanisms of the primitive Sacred: the so-called "crisis of distinctions" which is the harbinger of another sacrificial preparation. It is a breakdown of the rituals, myths, and prohibitions of the Sacred that is necessary for another culture-founding, culture-reviving spasm of violence.

Trouble is, another factor has been at work in the West; namely, the Gospel. In conventional cultures, when a crisis of distinctions reached its denouement, an "economic" apoplexy of violence would occur -- Nietzsche's Eternal Return -- and order would be restored, either through a carefully orchestrated ritual event performed by the priesthood or an actual new originary event of founding violence.

Now, however, the Gospel has given moral "qualms" about such events in the West (notice that in lands of the "Scimitar", no such qualms even cross the minds of street rabble - such matters are framed in terms of 'honor', 'disrespect', revenge as 'sacred duty,' etc.). Therefore, the prestige of sacrificial victims or the number of sacrificial victims has increased in an unconscious effort to surcharge the sacrificial mechanism: regicide or genocide.

Difficult times lie ahead for people of faith, people of peace, people who believe in the Gospel.

Catholic Education Resource Center Concern

Catholic Education Resource Center features an article by Charles Colson. It is a warning regarding the "Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007." Our friend, Gil Bailie, blogged on the same concern back in May here (WARNING: graphic idiocy depicted).

When less than 2% of the U. S. population sways legislative and the judicial branches of government to this relativist nonsense -- be in constant prayer.

Taxonomy of Gender Confusion

Gay No More
From Dawn Eden by way of the Curt Jester, a noted leader and former editor in chief of Young Gay America, Michael Glatze relates in his own words the way that a relationship with God -- a kind and forgiving God at that -- started him on the path away from homosexuality. Glatze:
Poland, a country all-too familiar with the destruction of its people by outside influences, is bravely attempting to stop the European Union from indoctrinating its children with homosexual propaganda. In response, the European Union has called the prime minister of Poland "repulsive."

I was repulsive for quite some time; I am still dealing with all of my guilt.

As a leader in the "gay rights" movement, I was given the opportunity to address the public many times. If I could take back some of the things I said, I would. Now I know that homosexuality is lust and pornography wrapped into one. I'll never let anybody try to convince me otherwise, no matter how slick their tongues or how sad their story. I have seen it. I know the truth.

God gave us truth for a reason. It exists so we could be ourselves. It exists so we could share that perfect self with the world, to make the perfect world. These are not fanciful schemes or strange ideals – these are the Truth.

Healing from the sins of the world will not happen in an instant; but, it will happen – if we don't pridefully block it. God wins in the end, in case you didn't know.

Dreadful Numbers

While Aramis launched a comment to The Turning Tide – Youth Turn to the Catholic Church that was worthy of a post in itself, John Heard (“Dreadnought”) ferrets out the faulty logic and crumbling reasons for supporting the so-called entity, "gay marriage" (warning: some disturbing images). As a professed homosexual, Heard is at one and the same time in full obedience to the Magisterium and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Let us never flag in prayer, practicing the virtues (Cardinal and Theological), and observance of the Blessed Sacrament. Our warfare, like that of St.-Anne's-on-the Hill in C. S. Lewis's That Hideous Strength and Aly's in The Dionysus Mandate is against the powers and principalities of Satan.

Jesus on the Most Holy Cross did not see wolves crucifying Him, as our friend and mentor, Gil Bailie says. He saw lost sheep. Hate the sin, never the sinner(s). Deo gratias!

Dreadnought Redux

John Heard - aka Dreadnought - is, as Porthos repeatedly tells us, one of the most forthright crusaders for the Church's teachings on human sexuality. In a post on an article from Commonweal here (warning: some disturbing "eye candy"), he decries the succumbing of so many who want to subvert the Church's teachings to mere human predilections and whims (read: Gnostic desires and disordered passions):
(This is nothing except) a telling example of what Catholicism would look like if it were a bastard religion that worshipped a new god known (or more likely unknown) most often via personal experience. In short, it is the same Christianity-lite and near neo-Pagansim we've been fed by sixties-era liberals for decades.
This from a self-avowed homosexual ("gay conservative") who deems John Paul II the Great's Theology of the Body the "summa" of the 21st century. You go, Dreadnought.

The Archbishop's Special Delivery

And It Isn't a Nosegay

Gerald Augustinus at The Cafeteria is Closed reports that the Holy Father is lending support to Genoa's Archbishop Angelo Bagnasco, the president of the Italian bishops' conference, in the face of death threats: most recently, a bullet in the mail. Not "soft coercion." Not a subtle message. Point blank clear: message received.

Once again we note that the Catholic Church, in supporting the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, the "domestic church," and the common good, draws the usual lynch-mob of miscreants and degenerates. They understand that their "special interests" (read: neo-pagan, anti-Christ agenda) are only confronted by Catholic truth. Who else? Please show me if I'm wrong about that. We're supposed to forgive, turn the other cheek, not return evil for evil. They certainly don't have to. Any means -- political, judicial, ecumenical, death threats -- any means to disassemble the foundations of civility, sanity, and hope for humanity.

Catholic World News reports that Cardinal Camillo Ruini, who had preceded Archbishop Bagnasco as president of the Italian bishops' conference, told the Italian daily Corriere della Sera that Italian Church leaders would not be silenced by threats. “We will speak even more clearly and forcefully," he vowed.

For the clearest, most lucid expression of why support for our Church leaders matters and such violent threats cannot be ignored, pick up a copy of David P. Lang's superb slim volume, Why Matter Matters [Our Sunday Visitor, 2002]. Hint: Genesis 1, 31.
