The work to exp...Dear Ath,

Most excellent post dude. The work to expell the Gospel and Christianity from our lives in this age is so rampant that hardly anyone, especially those who claim the liberal bias, can see through it. Yet this is our age. If one really wants to be mindful of scapegoating, if they actually feel that scapegoating is inappropriate, they must first and always re-exam their hearts' desires and be in sync with that of Christ, the Church and the Gospel. If you are out of alignment with one you are out of alignment with all three and you can rest assure that you are scapegoating Christianity.

Any and all "social justice causes" must be bound-up in prayerful discernment in accord with Christ, Church and the Word. Any effort not immersed in these 3 will always results in scapegoating violence.

When I was coming around to this fact I asked, how could this be? I reread and reread Girard and Bailie and I prayed constantly.

Girard has made a little cut through the cultural fog enabling us to see a bit more clearly what the revelation Christianity, through Word, Tradition carried forth by the Church, and the Holy Spirit has been revealing about human violence. But grasping what is seen, by this help of Girard through the fog, is no good if you fall away from your humble prayers and guidance that the Church, the Word and the Holy Spirit provide for one.

My first reaction to a study of Girard, which was not fully grounded yet in the Church, sent me spinning around under a righteousness and idolatrous liberalism. What kept me at His Cross I am not sure, however it was the crucifix and prayer that brought me round to the Church and of course with the faith provided me by the Holy Spirit to stay listening to Bailie and others and I learned that I cannot do this alone - I must hold true to the Church, the Word and to the Triune God.David Nybakkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13172189118334371454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37222179.post-34849171579014664882008-10-30T12:25:00.000-04:002008-10-30T12:25:00.000-04:00Ath,For some reason your link "mob feeling righteo...Ath,
For some reason your link "mob feeling righteous" does not work.

AramisDavid Nybakkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13172189118334371454noreply@blogger.com
