Steyn on Multicultural-Everythingism

Ath posted this most excellent video reviewing the dangers of the slippery slope of multiculturalism on his blog yesterday. Good show.

There is a link between Steyn's remark in this video and Ath's post on The Encounter of the Beautiful.

Of course the connection is where Truth and Beauty rests. I cannot see how one immersed in multicultural or Everythingism can truly experience either, Truth or Beauty.

From Communion and Liberation Memores Domini:
The Memor Domini "is a layperson who freely lives a life totally immersed in the world with total personal responsibility” (Memores Domini – Interview with Msgr Luigi Giussani) and commits himself to the mission by living his professional occupation as the locus of the memory of Christ, in other words, by making it an offering.

I had not heard this thought put so well: "lives a life totally immersed in the world with total personal responsibility..." and of course one can only do that "by living ... as the locus of the memory of Christ, ..., by making it (one's whole life) an offering."

This is a prime example of living life that cannot be said or really shared by practitioners of multiculturalism.
